The Foundation, Inc.

Of all his accomplishments, one of Mr. Fogel's proudest was the formation of the Fogel & Cohen Foundation, Inc. ("Foundation") in 2000 with his partner in Fogel & Cohen, L.L.P., Seth I. Cohen, to help raise the funding and awareness needed to improve the daily lives of young cancer victims and to support both new and ongoing research, education and advocacy in the search to find a cure for the disease. A primary objective of the Foundation, a non-profit organization, was to accomplish its mission by organizing social events such as an Annual Golf Tournament and to contribute to organizations that posses the Founders' same passion in the hope that one day the disease will be totally eliminated.

Motivated by the pain that cancer can inflict on an individual and family, something the Founders both have experienced, and in the spirit of the close loved ones they each lost to the disease - Seth, his mother Adrienne H. Cohen, and Mitchell, his father Norman A. Fogel - the Founders decided to actively assist individuals in their fight against cancer. From its inception, the Foundation's Board of Directors and other members committed themselves to making a positive difference in the lives of young cancer patients, with the hope that Foundation's annual events would bring individuals together to enjoy a terrific event while helping to support a worthy cause.

Proceeds from the Foundation's annual events were used to renovate and furnish the children's activity room at the American Cancer Society's Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge Center in Miami, Florida; to provide through the American Cancer Society college scholarships for youths that have undergone or were in the process of receiving treatment for cancer; and funds for the Children's Center of The Lynn Cancer Center in Boca Raton, Florida.

While the Foundation was dissolved in 2007 due to the dissolution of Fogel & Cohen, L.L.P., Mr. Fogel and his present law firm remain committed to the principles, values and efforts of the Foundation…..so look for other opportunities to join us in our quest for a cure!
