Ellen Schechter, Associate

Ellen Schechter joined Fogel & Cohen, L.L.P. in January 2006 following ten years as a sole practitioner in Boca Raton, Florida. Ms. Schechter concentrated her practice on residential real estate matters, title insurance, corporate law and business transactions, including entity formation. Prior to forming her own firm, Ms. Schechter established the law department and served as Director of Legal Affairs for a national long distance telecommunications company.

Ms. Schechter was born and raised in New York and is a graduate of Cornell University (A.B., 1978) and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 1986). She was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1987 and the State of Florida in 1987.

Ms. Schechter currently practices in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, including title insurance, real estate acquisitions and sales, and Small Business Administration 7(a) and 504 financing. Her practice also includes corporate and business law and commercial and residential leasing.

Ms. Schechter is a member of the Florida Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section) and South Palm Beach County Bar Association. Ms. Schechter is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and is also an avid golfer. She is actively involved in the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA), where she served as Secretary, Vice President and President of the Palm Beach County Chapter. She is currently the Sectional Director for the Florida Section of the EWGA. Ms. Schechter lives in Boca Raton.
