Mitchell C. Fogel, Partner

Mr. Fogel founded Mitchell C. Fogel, P.A. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in March of 1991, following his early experience practicing law at two of South Florida's most well known laws firms: Ruden Barnett McClosky Smith Shuster & Russell, P.A. and Josias & Goren, P.A. From 1991 through 1998, Mr. Fogel's law practice concentrated on residential and commercial real estate, lending and banking transactions, and business and corporate law. In 1998, Mr. Fogel and Seth I. Cohen formed Fogel & Cohen, L.L.P. ("F&C"), which continued to grow in size and sophistication to become a well known Boca Raton-based law firm, providing its services throughout the State of Florida. In early 2007, following the dissolution of F&C, he and Saara J. Pekale, who was also a partner in F&C, formed Fogel & Pekale, LLP, whose practice continues in the traditional areas of Mr. Fogel's prior law firms, but which has also become known and developed an excellent reputation nationwide for its expertise in Small Business Administration ("SBA") loan transactions.

He is a graduate of the University of Florida (B.S.B.A. 1983, Highest Honors; Gold Key and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies); George Washington University, National Law Center (J.D., 1987; Phi Alpha Delta), and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1987.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1962, he was raised in Miami, Florida and has seen and been a part of the tremendous growth and expansion that South Florida has experienced. His experiences and relationships have enabled him to form, build and expand his law firm into a growing and dynamic business. In addition to his law firm, Mr. Fogel owns a number of other businesses and real estate in South Florida, from which he has gained considerable "real life" experience and skills that enable him to better represent his clients on all sides of business and real estate dealings. He and his family reside in Boca Raton.

Mr. Fogel is a member of the American Bar Association (Sections: Real Property, Probate and Trust Law; Business Law; Science and Technology; Franchising); Florida Bar Association (Sections: Real Property, Probate and Trust Law; Business Law; Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law); and the South Palm Beach County Bar Association.

His practice areas include Commercial and Residential Real Estate Transactions; Real Property Development, Acquisitions, Leasing and Financing; Title Insurance; Banking and Small Business Administration Lending; Business, Corporate and Partnership Law and Transactions; Franchise, Dealerships and Licenses; Condominium and Homeowner Association Law; Restaurants and Hospitality Law; Computer and Technology Law; Entertainment Law; and Intellectual Property. Mr. Fogel is also a Designated and Certified Closing Attorney for SBA Loan Transactions.

Mr. Fogel's other activities include: Chairman, Fogel & Cohen Foundation, Inc.; Board of Directors, Palm Beach County American Cancer Society; Trustee, Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce; Director, Commercial Industrial Real Estate Brokers Association; Business Development Board of Palm Beach County; Realtors Commercial Society of Palm Beach County; Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Broward County; Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW); Internet Coast; and the South Florida Technology Alliance. Mr. Fogel is also a member of The National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) and The National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).

He has been an Instructor with the National Business Institute for several years and was a Faculty Member of Broward Community College, in Broward County, Florida (1993 to 1995), where he taught "Real Estate Closings and Mortgage Law", and a Faculty Member of Rollins College, in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1991 to 1993), where he instructed the courses of "The Law of Business Organizations" and "Real Estate and Mortgages". Mr. Fogel also served on The Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Hollywood, Florida from 1992 to 1997. He also maintains an active Florida Real Estate License and has been a Coach in the Soccer Association of Boca Raton since 1998 and Boca Hoops since 2003.
